Question about a close friend serving in Iraq

I have a close friend who's serving in Taji, Iraq currently. This is his 4th tour and he is scheduled to come home the end of next month. My problem is I haven't heard from him in almost 2 weeks. He went out on what was supposed to be a short mission, 2 friday's ago and none of us have heard from him since. My question is how would I know if something has happened to him, Is there anyway to find out without contacting his family and worrying them?

Re: Question about a close friend serving in Iraq

His family will be the first to know if anything is wrong. All the time in Iraq and Afgan Soldiers mission change without any notice and this Soldier could be at a FOB or Fire Base without a phone or there could be a unit wide black out which means that Soldiers are not aloud to use the phone for different reasons until the command says to open them back up. If the family has not heard anything from the military I wouldn't worry about your friend.
